I gotta say, this has been the hardest one to finish so far. actual content being the issue. i remember the movie fondly as a kid, but re-watching it as an adult, there was something a bit unnerving and sometimes boring about how it played out. don't get me wrong, i still like it, but its extreeeemely dated, and the musical numbers were cringe worthy. (especially the bat rap. wtf 90's.)

Except for the -ridiculously- sexual tones of the Nexxus song as he humped the Leveler machine. that was hilarious.

good god i was just thinking of this movie the other day. honestly as a kid i thought it was a sequel, since the elder fairy always told the legend of how she sealed that demon thing into the tree. i wanna see that made into a prequel. i've heard the sequel sucks, anyway.

also, the dated numbers just add to the fun. lulz, A WALKMAN.

Yuuussss. I loved Ferngully as a kid, loved it so much. Watching it now... I agree one hundred percent. Of course, ever since the Rocky Horror Picture show, I now think everything Tim Curry does has sexual undertones...

But beautiful work, nonetheless. I love all these pieces, you've sent me on an odyssey of nostalgia, which is also making me seriously consider therapy...

Lol I loved Ferngully as a kid too, and I still love it but I agree that it is really dated! I thought it was late 80's that it came out? I dunno but the dude had a mullet :stare: a blonde one. With brown sideburns? Anyways lol Hexxus' song was awesome though! Even though it was really sexual (same with the "If I'm Gonna Eat Somebody" song lolwut) partially because he was voiced by Tim Curry... plus Robin Williams for Batty? Perfect lol.

I really love this in the Art Nouveau style! So pretty and I also like how you incorporated little details from the movie (like the seed at the top right) :) Hexxus looks so creepy up there, you did a really good job on him too! I thought he was always one of the best cartoon movie villians!

Wow... Just WOW! The best FernGully fanart I've ever seen...
I love the idea with circles at the top... :heart: I love floral designs... I love your style in it!

To tell the truth, now I'm working at FernGully fanart too and I'm using Art Nouveau motives in it (sketch: [link] ) ... And then I saw your artwork, such a surprise! :)
I think this style fits this movie a lot... :heart: Cause there aer a lot of very beautiful plant motives in it... And also they can be mixed with technological elements too...)

And, I love Hexxus very much too... I must say he's one of my favourite villains ever. I'm so nostalgic about this movie, I watched it when I was little and now re-watched... I can't stop listening to "Toxic Love".)

hey thanks for such an awesome comment! <3 i appreciate the love, and i gotta say, that picture you linked to is gorgeous. seriously. i WISH Crysta had had hips like that in the movie, and i love how you've got Hexxus looming over the entire top like the smog cloud he is. you can gush all you want on mine, but i'm gonna gush on yours. are you going to color it?
